Washington State Women's Council
Variant namesThe Washington State Women's Council was originally created by Executive Order by Gov. Daniel Evans in 1971. The Women's Council was preceded by the Governor's Commission on the Status of Women appointed by Gov. Albert D. Rosellini. Gov. Dixy Lee Ray terminated the Women's Council in 1978. August 31, 1978 was the last day of operation. The resource information that had been collected and maintained by the Women's Council was transferred to the Washington Room of the Washington State Library.
