Leavenworth, Melines Conklin, 1796-1862.
Dr. Melines Conklin Leavenworth (1796-1862), graduated from Yale Medical School in 1817, served as assistant surgeon in the army 1833-40, and was with his uncle, Gen. Henry Leavenworth, in 1834 on an expedition against the hostile Pawnees and Comanches.
