Atlee B. Ayres and his son Robert M. Ayres made up the prominent San Antonio architectural firm, Ayres and Ayres, practicing from 1899 to 1977.

Their most important accomplishment was the development of a regional style that accommodated the Spanish heritage of San Antonio.
