The Kigali Memorial Centre in Kigali, Rwanda commemorates the 1994 Rwandan Genocide through an Education Centre featuring permanent exhibits on the Genocide, a Memorial Garden where more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide are buried, and the National Documentation Centre of the Genocide that houses archives and oral history testimonies. The Kigali Memorial Centre (KMC) opened in April 2004 on the 10th anniversary of the Genocide. It was established by the Kigali City Council and designed with the help of the United Kingdom's Aegis Trust.
