The Presbytery of Tuscaloosa was erected in 1835 in Alabama by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. It joined the Presbyterian Church in the Confederate States of America in 1861, and was continued by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S. in 1865. In 1977, it merged with the Presbytery of East Alabama to form John Knox Presbytery. A variant spelling, Tuskaloosa, was used between 1847 and 1900.
