Magaw, Theophilus M., b. ca. 1842.

In 1861, Theophilus M. Magaw, of Fairhaven, Preble County, Ohio, enlisted in Co. D of the 47th Regiment of Ohio Volunteers. In 1861-1862, the regiment served in West Virginia, and from Jan. 1863 to June, 1865, it was attached to the 15th Army Corps. Magaw took part in the operations in the Kanawha Valley, Vicksburg Campaign, Chattanooga, Atlanta, Sherman's March to the Sea, and the campaign of the Carolinas. He was honorably discharged in August 1865. After the war, Magaw moved to Kansas.
