American Institute of Architects. Alabama Council
Variant namesThe Alabama Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was chartered in 1916. In 1965, it became the Alabama Council and six separate chapters were created throughout the state. The council serves as liaison between the state chapters and the American Institute of Architects. It is active in public relations, historic preservation, monitoring state legislation, financial aid and awards to architecture students, and publishes the "Alabama Architect."
