Fred Presanr grew up in Guelph where his grandfather and then his father owned and operated the Guelph Victoria Flour Mill on the Speed River at Wyndham Street until 1914. After graduating in 1923, he worked in Horticultural Extension and then at the new Agricultural Experiment Farm at Ridgetown. He then joined what later became Master Feeds in 1928 and eventually became Chief Executive Officer.

Jay Isa graduated with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and completed an MSc degree in the Bacteriology Dept. there. Following graduation from OVC in 1938, he worked in the Pathology Laboratory at the University of Manitoba.

Bernard McSherry served in the Canadian Artillery in WWII. He was on the faculty of OVC from 1946-1986, where he formed the Clinical Pathology unit. He also developed the McSherry solution as a cure for scours in calves.

Dr. Sanderson taught Household Management from 1936-1941, returned to campus in 1953 to become Professor and Chairman of Foods and Nutrition, 1964-1969. Dr. Sanderson was also a member of the University of Guelph Senate.

Gavin Hamilton returned to set up a veterinary practice in Saskatoon following graduation. After 14 years the practice was sold to the University of Saskatchewan and Gavin joined the faculty of the new WCVM vet school. He received a PhD in 1970 and taught for 12 years, becoming Dean of the WCVM in 1982. He retired in 1993.

Bill Winegard was the second president of the University of Guelph, from 1967-1975. Prior to coming to Guelph he was Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto. Following retirement, Dr. Winegard became the Progressive Conservative MP for Guelph-Wellington and served as the first federal Minister of Science from 1988-1993.

Herb Pettipiere entered OAC in 1945 and studied Agricultural Economics. Following graduation, he worked 3 months at Canada Parkers. He returned to OAC and served as Dean of Men, Student Counselor for 7 years and having a Master's degree in education from Cornell (1952-1953), he was promoted to Registrar. He continued as Registrar of the Federated Colleges and later the University of Guelph. In 1971, H. Pettipiere left the University and was appointed Director of the Application Centre. He held that position until retiring in 1989.

Clay Switzer graduated from OAC in 1951, obtained his MSc in Botany at Guelph and PhD in Plant Physiology at Iowa State University. At the University of Guelph he was Chair of the Botany Department, Associate Dean and Dean of the OAC. He was President of the Agricultural Institute of Canada and then Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Ontario.

Ross Hay graduated from the OAC Diploma program in 1945. He went on the "Harvest Excursion" to Western Canada in the fall of 1943 with a group of OAC students and faculty.
