Bilderdijk, Katharina Wilhelmina, 1776-1830

Katharina Wilhelmina Bilderdijk, Dutch artist and poet. She is the daughter of Heinrich Wilhelm Schweickhardt, landscape painter and etcher, and in 1797 she became the second wife of the Dutch poet Willem Bilderdijk. Her Dutch translation of Robert Southey's Roderick was published in 1823-4.

Katharina Wilhelmina Bilderdijk, Dutch artist and poet. She is the daughter of Heinrich Wilhelm Schweickhardt, landscape painter and etcher, and in 1797 she became the second wife of the Dutch poet Willem Bilderdijk. Her Dutch translation of Robert Southey's Roderick was published in 1823-4, and Southey visited the Bilderdijks in Leyden on a tour of Holland in June of 1826.
