Plumley, H. Ladd
Resident of Worcester, Mass.; b. in Waterbury, Conn., 1903; served with U.S. Army during World War I, after which he joined State Mutual Life Assurance Company (later Allmerica Financial) based in Worcester, Mass., and elected president of State Mutual and in 1960 became chairman of the board, a position held until his retirement in 1967; served as president of the US Chamber of Commerce in 1962 and 1963 and on various boards and committees in the city of Worcester; head of Worcester Housing Authority in 1978 and helped spearhead the construction of Plumley Village East, a housing project originally run by State Mutual; d. in 1990 at age 87.
