Mathews (1912- ); Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. missionary in Mexico and Guatemala, 1943-1978; took part in a translation of the New Testament into the Mayan language; he and his wife Eula headed an evangelistic outreach program, largely in Mayan; they also taught at the Rural Presbyterian Seminary in Merida.
