Baker family.
The Baker family were active in the original organization of Goshen, Vt., in 1814. Members of the Baker and Salls families served in the War of 1812 and in the Civil War. Josiah Dunham Clarke, a cousin of Henry Sheldon, died in 1862 at Young's Mill, Newport News, Va., during the Civil War Peninsular Campaign and the siege of Yorktown.
