The School of Information Sciences and Technology was formed in 1997 after a mandate delivered by President Graham Spanier. After two years of organizational work, the first students were admitted to the new School in 1999. The first graduating class had a ninety-eight percent job placement rate within the industry; that number remained above ninety percent from 2003 to 2007. The School became the College of Information Sciences and Technology in January 2006.
