Mary Gwinn Bowe (1902-1979) was active in a number of civic organizations in Chicago. She was on the women's boards of the Lyric Opera and the Field Museum of Natural History and was associated with the National Conference of Christians and Jews. She was an early trustee of public television station WTTW, former head of the women's division of the Community Fund of Chicago, and a founder of the Women's College Board.
