Owens, Jesse, 1913-1980
Variant namesJesse (James Cleveland) Owens was born in Oakville, Alabama on Sept. 12, 1913. He attended the Ohio State University from 1933-1935. He competed in the 1936 Olympics, winning medals in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, broad jump, and 400 meter relay. He died March 31, 1980.
