Founded in 1925 at a conference of students from 245 universities who had gathered at Princeton University to discuss the issue of the United States and the World Court.

The Federation merged with the World Student Union in 1928 and sponsored such programs as international debates, travel and news services, radio broadcasts, student problem and opinion surveys, publications, and conferences.
