Resident of Portland, Me.; railroad buff; worked at Maine Central Railroad. The Stanley Museum was established in 1981 and is located in Kingfield, Me., the birthplace of the Stanley twin brothers, F.E. and F.O. Stanley, inventors of the Stanley Steamer automobile. McFarlane was a charter member of the museum.
