Capt. Frederick J. Ruder (1917-), a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1941, served in destroyers and submarines during a thirty-year Naval career. He saw duty in the PHELPS, HADDO, DACE, BURRFISH, REQUIN, ARGONAUT, BECUNA, ATULE, WALLACE L. LIND, AND ELDORADO. Among his duty stations were the Office of Naval Research, DCNO Op 02, Headquarters of U.S. EUCOM, Staff of CincAfMed, Pentagon service with DCNO Op 07, professor of Naval Sciences at University of Rochester, and chief of staff to Oceanographer of the Navy.
