Wyse, Frederick C.

Captain Frederick C. Wyse, a native of Spartanburg, S.C., was a member of the US Naval Academy Class of 1941. After graduation from the academy, he was sent to the USS NEW MEXICO where he became assistant navigator. During the summer and fall of 1941 he saw service in Iceland before transferring to submarine school. His next assignments were aboard the submarine cargo ship BASS and the SS 318, BAYA.
