Mu Phi Epsilon

Mu Phi Epsilon, a national music sorority promoting musicianship and friendship among women undergraduates in the U.S. was founded at the Metropolitan College of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio in November 1903. New England Conservatory's Beta chapter was founded soon after but dissolved quickly. The Beta Chapter was reinstated at NEC in 1909 and apparently remained active until the late 1960s or early 1970s. Today, Mu Phi Epsilon is an International Professional Music Fraternity, composed of Collegiate Chapters, Alumni Chapters and Allied Members currently has 136 collegiate chapters including two in the Philippine Islands and one in Canada, 74 alumni chapters and more than 75,000 members.
