Titus, Daniel, 1762-1826

Daniel Titus was a Quaker from Long Island. He was born in 1762 to Henry Titus and Sarah Birdsall Titus near Westbury, New York. In January 1783 Titus married Amy Willets, daughter of Samuel Willets and Jane Powell Willets. That summer the young couple moved to Harrison, New York, where they lived for 13 years and had four children. In 1796 they returned to Long Island, first settling near Jericho, where a fifth child was born, then moving closer to Westbury in 1798. Daniel Titus died in 1826.
