Arnold, Benjamin, 1746-1802

Benjamin Arnold was a Quaker from North Carolina. Arnold was born in 1742 to William and Mary Arnold of Pasquotank Monthly Meeting. In 1768 he married Sarah Cannon of Perquimans Monthly Meeting, and over the next two decades the couple had seven children. In 1772 Pasquotank Monthly Meeting recognized Sarah as a minister, and two years later the meeting appointed Benjamin as an overseer. The couple and their children moved to Contentnea Monthly Meeting in 1777, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Benjamin Arnold died on June 9, 1802; Sarah died on October 30, 1821.
