Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Bayou Bend Collection.
The house and gardens known as Bayou Bend are the work and legacy of Miss Ima Hogg (1882-1975), only daughter of Texas Governor James Stephen Hogg. Designed by architect John F. Staub and completed by 1927, Bayou Bend remained the private residence of Miss Hogg until 1958, when it was deeded to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston along with Miss Hogg's extensive collection of American furniture, paintings, and decorative arts. The collection was opened to the public in 1966.
