The Little Traverse Bay Historical Museum in Petoskey, Michigan, is one of several historical organizations under the aegis of the Little Traverse Historical Society. The Little Traverse Historical Society was established in 1905. In 1969, The Little Traverse Historical Society was incorporated as a non- profit organization, "To preserve, advance and disseminate knowledge of the history of the Little Traverse Bay Area." The Little Traverse Historical Society restored the abandoned Chicago and West Michigan Railroad depot. The Society has published several books and has a newsletter, the Passenger Pigeon.
