State Historical Society of Wisconsin. Sites and Markers Division.
An Office of Sites and Markers was established at the State Historical Society about 1954. It operated as a separate division until 1978 when supervision of the sites was turned over to the Museum Division (see WIHV86-A2049). This function was later put under the Division of Historic Sites (see WIHV89-A322).
