William Cunninghame & Co. was a Glasgow, Scotland firm that specialized in import and export of Virginia tobacco. The firm set up a chain of fourteen stores throughout Virginia, which offered goods, money, and credit to planters in exchange for tobacco. John Turner was the firm's storekeeper in Fauquier and Rocky Ridge.
