Arant, F. S. (Frank Selman), 1904-
Variant namesArant was a native of Alabama who attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) then received his Ph. D. in entomology from Iowa State University (1937). After military service, 1942-46, where he worked in sanitation and public health, he taught at Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Arant served as head of the Department of Zoology-Entomology, 1949-75.
