Edison Dupree was born in 1954 and grew up in Kinston, North Carolina. He is the author of one full-length poetry collection (Prosthesis, Bluestem Press, 1994) and two chapbooks (A Rapid Transit, North Carolina Writers’ Network, 1988; Boy With A Ball, Seven Kitchens Press, 2019). For his work he has received fellowships from the North Carolina Arts Council, The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and the MacDowell Colony. He lives with his wife, artist Rebecca Doughty in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he has recently retired after working for many years as a university library assistant.
