Powers, Ella V.

Powers was born on May 3, 1892, a descendant of the Fraser, Ferris, Potter, and Johnson families, all early Isabella County (Mich.) pioneers. She was a teacher at Ganiard Elementary School in Mount Pleasant (Mich.). Powers was active in the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, Woman's Relief Corps, and the Westside Parent-Teacher Association. She had a great interest in genealogy and Isabella County history, researching and writing parts of the county's history. Sadly, Powers was unable to complete her book before her death in June 1968.
