Born in Vienna 1881, died in Nijmegen, Netherlands 1957; because of her mother (executive member of the Allgemeine Österreichische Frauenverein) soon involved in the labour movement and the women's movement; member of the Sozialdemokratische Arbeiterpartei in Österreich (SDAP) from 1911; after the First World War SDAP secretary in Steiermark; member of the Landtag of Steiermark 1920-1927 and soon also a member of the Austrian Bundesrat; cooperated with Friedrich Adler as International Women's Secretary of the Labour and Socialist International (LSI/SAI) in Zurich 1928-1934; editor of Frauenrecht in Switzerland; returned to Austria in 1935; expelled by the GESTAPO in 1939; emigrated to Holland to join her son.
