Madeline Elizabeth Cox Arleo (born November 25, 1963) is a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and a former United States Magistrate Judge of the same court. Arleo was born in 1963 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree from Rutgers University. She received a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law. From 2000 to 2014, she served as a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of New Jersey. On June 26, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Arleo to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, to the seat vacated by Judge Dennis M. Cavanaugh, who retired on January 31, 2014. She received her judicial commission on November 21, 2014.
