Weems, M. L. (Mason Locke), 1759-1825
Variant namesBest known as "Parson Weems," biographer of George Washington, Weems began as an Anglican priest in Maryland. He wrote several other biographical and moral works and from 1794 to 1825 worked as an agent for the Philadelphia publisher Mathew Carey.
