Miller, Mary, 1959-
Variant namesMary E. Miller (née Meyer; born August 27, 1959) is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, she has served as the U.S. Representative from Illinois's 15th congressional district since 2021.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois, Miller graduated from Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois before earning a Bachelor of Science in business management and completing some graduate coursework in education at Eastern Illinois University. After graduating, she worked as a teacher and operated a farm. Miller announced her candidacy to represent Illinois's 15th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives in the 2020 elections to succeed retiring incumbent John Shimkus. Winning the Republican nomination and general election, she became the first Republican woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in eight years.
In the 117th Congress, Miller serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and House Committee on Education & Labor. She is a member of the Freedom Caucus and the Republican Study Committee.
