Son of Anthony & Margaret Carey. Served as treasurer, financial secretary & president of local UAW-CIO and later as international representtive of the union. Former president, financial secretary-treasurer of Chrysler Local No. 7, UAW-CIO. Member of Knights of Columbus and Equity.

He resigned his seat in Dec. 1957 when elected to the Detroit City Council. Last residence was Roseville, MI AKA "Ed" HCR 507 1983 House Journal indicated that he had died. No date or place of death reported. The Political Graveyard indicated that he died 1957, but that is likely wrong. The data in HCR 507 matches up with the person described there 9/28/1983 and referred to his recent passing.
