Bernard Seaman was an artist and cartoonist, known for his labor-related cartoons. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut on August 12, 1913; he attended New York City public schools, the City College of New York, the Art Students League of New York, and the University of Alabama. As a cartoonist, he served as the art editor for the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, the International Union of Electrical Workers, and the Seafarers International Union of North America. He contributed editorial cartoons to the AFL-CIO News and the New York Times, and also painted murals at several union halls. Seaman died of cancer in New York City on September 7, 1998.
