Issac Borton was a Quaker associated with Haddonfield Monthly Meeting and Upper Evesham Meeting, from Gloucester County, New Jersey. Son of John Borton, he was born on the 23rd of the 11th month 1737 (new style). In 1761 he married Mary Hooten, daughter of Samuel Hooten; the couple had eight children together named Ann, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Hope, Elizabeth, Jacob, Sarah. He died September 26, 1807 and was buried at Cropwell.
