Lois Whitfield "Whit" Ozier, Jr. was born on October 1, 1919 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 and lived most of his life in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he was a salesman, businessman, youth minister, and city councilman. Ozier was also a prolific collector of rare sound recordings, and donated an extensive collection which bears his name to the University of North Texas Music Library. Whit Ozier died in Lawton on February 3, 2004.
