Ron Bloom was a senior official in the Obama Administration from February 2009 to August 2011. This included working as the Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy between February 2011 and August 2011, in the Department of the Treasury as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury and member of the President’s Task Force on the Automotive Industry, and also as Senior Counselor to the U.S. President for Manufacturing Policy. Prior to joining the Treasury Department, Bloom served as a Special Assistant to the President of the United Steelworkers. Bloom is a Managing Partner and Vice Chair in Brookfield’s Private Equity Group. Prior to joining Brookfield, he was Vice Chairman, U.S. Investment Banking, at Lazard. Bloom received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
