Circle K International (CKI) is a subdivision of the Kiwanis Club with college students as members, whom strive to serve the community via service-based projects and fundraisers. The Ohio University (OU) chapter of CKI was originally chartered in December of 1953 and was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Athens. It was the 66th club in CKI with its Charter Number being 66. The club lost its original charter sometime after 1966. On September 8, 1972, CKI at OU was rechartered with the KCA again as the sponsor. When the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Athens (KCDA) was chartered on January 25, 1973, the KCDA became the co-sponsor of the CKI.
