Kirkland, William A.

William A. Kirland served as president and later chairman of First National Bank of Houston from 1955 to 1963. His maternal great-grandfather, B. A. Shepherd, founded the bank in 1866. Kirkland chronicled the history in the book Old Bank, New Bank: The First National Bank of Houston, 1866-1956 .
