Baker, James A. (James Addison), Jr., 1892-1973

James A. Baker Jr. was an attorney and real estate developer in Houston, Texas. His father was the prominent lawyer and banker Captain James A. Baker. He attended Princeton University but interrupted his studies to serve in World War I, seeing considerable active duty on the Western Front during 1918. After the war, he joined his father in the real estate development business, his most notable project being the exclusive subdivision Broadacres. In 1929 he became a partner in the family law firm, Baker & Botts, continuing there through the 1960s.
