Halsbury, Harding Goulburn Giffard, Earl of, 1880-1943.
The first Earl of Halsbury served as Solicitor General (1875) and Lord Chancellor (1885-1886; 1886-1892; 1895-1905). He presided over the preparation of digest of Laws of England (1905) and led the die-hards in the House of Lords against the Parliament Act (1911).
