Committee of nine formed to make arrangements for public celebration in Concord of 50th anniversary of Battle of Concord. Committee consisted of Nathan Brooks, John Stacy, Francis Jarvis (Jr.), A. Wright, Asa Hayward, Phineas Howe, Lemuel Shattuck, Stedman Buttrick, and E. Fuller. Representatives of Stow, Weston, Lexington, Lincoln, Bedford, Carlisle, Sudbury, East Sudbury, Acton, and Westford were chosen to participate in ceremonies. Concord's Committee voted to distribute badges of distinction to Battle of Concord veterans, who also took part in procession.
Edward Everett delivered oration, which appeared in printed form in same year (Boston : Cummings, Hilliard, 1825).
