Mildred Louise Linton was born to Louise Wise and Howard Linton. She worked at the Folger Shakespeare Library as a Clerk in both the Cataloging and Photoduplication departments.
While employed at the Folger she met Horace A. Groves, whom she married on February 1, 1947. They had a son named Timothy William Groves (born July 27, 1949). She lived in Bethesda, Maryland from at least the 1970s until her death in 2009.
