Cole, Hallet Everett, 1900-1974.
Hallett E. Cole (1900-1974) collected publications, photographs, and artifacts related to airships, especially Zeppelins and other rigid airships. At first a hobby, his collection and library became increasingly directed to the goal of generating public interest in airships. Cole believed that, given modern materials and technology, giant airships could be built that would be economical, convenient and non-polluting transportation for heavy freight and passengers.
From the description of Hallet E. Cole collection on Zeppelins and lighter-than-air craft, circa 1905-1971. (University of Oregon Libraries). WorldCat record id: 133600404
