Herring, Wray Raphael, 1926-2010

Wray Raphael Herring (1926-2010) was born in Parkersburg, Sampson County, North Carolina on January 31, 1926. Herring moved to Greensboro, N.C. and joined the United States Navy during World War II. Herring was a part of U.S. Navy Pre-Flight School Band and Orchestra, the U.S. Navy B-1 Band, and the Manana Ridge Band in which he played trombone and sang. Herring died November 2, 2010 in Newport News, Virginia.
