Journalist, writer and historian. Joined "The West Australian" newspaper as a reporter in 1920. Editor of the "Western Mail" (1941-1953), "Milady" (1948-1952) and "The Broadcaster" (1942-1953). Assistant to the Managing Editor, "West Australian" (1953-1965). Made a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1945. Published many books of a historical nature between 1940 and 1976.
