Marie Beuzeville Byles (b. Apr. 8 1900, Ashton upon Mersey, England– Nov. 211 1979, Cheltenham, Australia) became the first woman to be admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales. She set up her own law practice in 1929, the first woman to do so in New South Wales. She was a conservationist, explorer, and mountaineer.
