Denvil, Mary Ann, 1809-1889
Variant namesMary Ann Smith Denvil was born in 1809. She married actor Henry Denvil in 1823 and he became manager of the Royal Pavilion Theatre, London. Together they had seven children (five survived past childhood) and she was a dramatist in her own right. She would write to provide for her family and had many plays published and performed in the 1830s-1850s.
