Chien-Shiung Wu (b. May 31, 1912, Shanghai,China-d. Feb. 16, 1997, NY, NY) was the Michael I. Pupin Professor of Physics at Columbia University (1972-1981). An experimental physicist, Wu worked on the Manhattan Project and won the Nobel Prize in 1957.
